 Eto'o scored against Santander despite the racial abuse 
Spain's football authorities are set to sanction Racing Santander, after their fans racially abused Barcelona's Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o during a league match.
Santander's fans bombarded Eto'o with monkey chants and the club awaits their punishment from the Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) disciplinary committee.

INDIANAPOLIS - We know who'll they'll be rooting for tonight in Gainesville and Los Angeles. But what about in Cameroon?

While the West African nation of 16 million probably won't stay up into the wee hours huddled around a satellite TV, that doesn't mean there isn't a rooting interest in tonight's NCAA basketball championship game between Florida and UCLA.

Actually, there's two rooting interests.

Florida's sensational sophomore Joakim Noah is the son of Cameroon-born tennis star Yannick Noah and the grandson of Cameroon soccer hero Zacharie Noah.

 "As long as [Austin Eguavoen] remains the coach, I won't come back and I am saying it with all sincerity.

"Even if I'm sitting on the bench at my club, I won't return to the national team.

"We need a coach who will take decisions in the best interest of the team and the country.

"I will never play under him, because he doesn't need me and I don't need him."

Eguavoen, who declared before the Nations Cup finals that he had no axe to grind with Ayegbeni, felt the striker had not earned a first-team shirt and had to fight for his place.

Eto'o threatened to leave the pitchBarcelona striker Samuel Eto'o threatened to leave the pitch after being subjected to racial abuse by Real Zaragoza supporters on Saturday.

Eto'o was eventually persuaded to continue playing by coach Frank Rijkaard and several team-mates.

Referee Victor Esquinas Torres stopped play during Barca's 2-0 win to ask for an announcement to be made to the crowd calling for an end to the abuse.

Real Zaragoza were fined 600 euros last season after Eto'o was racially abused.

 Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o was named African Footballer of the Year for the third year running on Thursday edging Ivory Coast's Didier Drogba by two points. Eto'o became the only player to take the award three times in a row.
